If you’re a regular listener to The Author Biz, you may have noticed there was no episode on Monday. My guest had a scheduling snafu at the last minute that caused a cancellation. However, there’s a silver lining that comes in the form of a “between the episodes” edition of the show featuring the return of one of our most popular guests, Monica Leonelle.
As you may remember from Episode 35, Monica is a person who grabs new ideas quickly and runs with them. She’s recently taken to using Periscope to host a nightly video show as a way of building interest in a series of new non-fiction books for authors being released this fall. The books are currently available for pre-order at Amazon. (Affiliate link)
This episode is all about Periscope. How non-fiction authors are currently using it and how those writing fiction might consider using it in the very near future.
You can learn more about Monica at her website, www.proseonfire.com. As you’ll hear in the interview, the easiest way to find her on Periscope is to follow her on Twitter or search for her Twitter ID (@monicaleonelle ) on Periscope.
This “between the episode” show is an experiment, a quick look at a specific topic. It’s something I’ve wanted to try for some time, and I’d love to know what you think of the idea. Please let me know in the comments, or on Twitter, where I’m @stevecampbellfl.
LOVED this episode! Thanks Monica and Stephen for helping to take some mystery out of this new and very cool platform!
Thanks, Honoree – I’ll be listening to your interview on The Creative Penn while running later this week. I’m looking forward to hearing the interview.
OK. You tempted me to it. Came back and listened to this episode again a few days ago. Just broadcast my first periscope. Don’t know how to turn the camera around, so the entire time I’m showing your page. You can find it @dwndncnhrrll. We’ll save the fiction handle for later. THANKS for suggesting it. And keep up the great podcast!
Hey cool, thanks for letting me know. I’m searching for your scope right now.
